Experience Life on the Farm
Our Story
-
RACINES Holding is an initiative of the African Diaspora Network for Food Sovereignty and Industrialization in Senegal. This project was developed with technical support from HLAVINKA, a US-based partner in Texas, which is a leader in agribusiness and the sale of agricultural materials and products in the USA.
Our primary goal is to reduce Senegal's and West Africa's dependence on imported rice, corn, and millet, moving them towards full food sovereignty.
For the initial phase, the project is establishing a 4,000-hectare commercial rice farm and a 360-hectare seed production unit in Niamone, Casamance. RACINES Holding will also develop corn and cotton cultivation in the southeast, specifically in the Tambacounda region. Subsequently, other corn fields will be developed in the center and north. RACINES Holding will utilize innovative farming solutions such as pivot and solar irrigation for optimal water management.
Together, these components will form the backbone of a fully integrated ecosystem that
includes:
⦁ Easy access to certified seeds: Ensuring quality inputs for optimal yields.
⦁ Modern, mechanized farming: Implementing efficient and scalable agricultural practices.
⦁ Advanced processing and packaging: Transforming raw produce into high-value products ready for market.
⦁ Comprehensive training programs: Empowering local communities with essential agricultural skills.
⦁ Robust distribution network: Reaching local markets and the wider sub-region efficiently.
